Prashantkumar Kishanrao Sundge
Independent software developer, and the person who designs, builds, tests, writes, and supports PixelConvert. Every guide on this site is written and reviewed by one named person rather than an anonymous editorial team, and the measurements in them come from code in the project’s own repository.
What I am responsible for here
PixelConvert is a one-person project. I write the Next.js front end and the FastAPI conversion service behind it, generate the synthetic test corpus, run the measurements that appear in the guides, write the guides themselves, and answer the support mailbox. There is no separate content team, no outsourced writing, and no syndicated material.
That structure has an obvious limitation, and it is better stated than hidden: one person cannot test every device, every browser version, or every file a reader might have. Where a claim is backed by an in-house measurement, the guide names the file, the settings, and the library version so you can check it. Where it is not, the guide is labelled as a reference article and cites its sources instead.
How the technical claims are produced
The measurements published on this site come from deterministic images generated in the repository — code-drawn gradients, noise, sharp text, transparent shapes, an EXIF orientation case, a multi-page TIFF, and a multi-resolution icon source. No stock photography, no third-party logos, and no personal photographs are used, which means every test file can be published for readers to download and re-run.
Case-study measurements are captured by scripts that send those files to the running production API and record the response headers verbatim, rather than by describing what the code is expected to do. When a result includes a trade-off — a dimension reduction, a dropped frame, an approximation — the guide reports it alongside the number rather than in a footnote.
Editorial position
Most image-conversion writing overpromises. It implies that changing a file format can restore quality, that a compression percentage measured on one image applies to yours, or that a tool can recover information that was discarded years ago. Those claims are comfortable to publish and they waste readers’ time.
The guides here take the opposite position. JPG to PNG does not improve quality. PNG to JPG destroys transparency permanently. A multi-page TIFF cannot become one PNG. SVG tracing approximates pixels and does not recover a design file. Stating those limits first is more useful than discovering them after you have replaced an original with a derivative.
Corrections are dated and applied to both the guide and the relevant tool copy, and the revision note stays on the article. If you find a reproducible error in a measurement or a claim, I would like to know about it.
Contact
Email support@pixelconvert.net for technical reports, corrections, privacy questions, or copyright matters. Replies are handled personally and on a best-effort basis. Please do not email sensitive source images; a synthetic or non-sensitive reproduction is enough to investigate almost any conversion problem.
See the contact page for what to include in a useful bug report, and about for the product’s scope and privacy model.
